Sustainability

Dzata Cement is keen on sustainability. Our three sustainability pillars are: Environment, Society and Our People.

Environment Pillar

Dzata is aware of the role industry needs to play in Ghana’s carbon sequestration, for a healthy balance of emissions and a healthy environment. We are committed to carbon sequestration through supporting Afforestation drives to maintain and improve Ghana’s Forest Cover.  Forest ecosystems play a vital role in sequestering carbon from the atmosphere, which helps in mitigating carbon footprint and aid in moderating global warming and consequent changes in the climate. Each year, the company dedicates resources to achieve an annual target contribution, to forest cover conservation and afforestation.

Society Pillar

We believe in the power of skills development for sustainable economic growth. 

A skilled society can take advantage of jobs and self-employment opportunities to raise their income level. 

As such, Dzata Cement has developed the Concrete Masonry Skills Program for Construction Technicians. This program will offer youth in the society the following benefits in construction: 

  • Hands-on experience
  • On-the-job training 
  • Fast-track to joining the workforce

Our People Pillar

At Dzata, sustainability is every employee’s responsibility. Confronted daily with evidence of climate change and other issues that harm our well-being, most of us yearn to do something but don’t know what or how. Regular workshops on sustainability and taking ownership are conducted within the organization. Employee input on how we can take daily steps towards sustainability is collected and all input analyzed and shaped into internal sustainability themes for each year. We believe that starting from the inside and remaining consistent will go a long way in embedding life-long values within each team member.
